HP VantagePoint puts my computer monitor to shame.
HP have this week unveiled the VantagePoint display system. Measuring 11 by 7 feet, it makes for a 132” diagonal screen size. It’s made up of six screens with resolution of 4098x1536, which is higher than 1080p, and HP says the bezels have ‘virtual pixels’ underneath, meaning the image should almost appear seamless across the frames between screens.
With Gorilla Glass, an ‘ infrared-based touch overlay’ providing touch input, and augmented reality software built in, this is definitely going on my Christmas wish list. The US$125,000 system ships with a Hewlett Packard Z800 workstation running Windows 7, which seems to be at the top end of their business models, as well as a HP Pavillion Slimline PC for controlling volume and color etc on each of the six screens.
